Justin Bieber fans who were eagerly awaiting a planned collaboration
with country songstress Taylor Swift on his new album were finally
offered an explanation as to why the track didn’t appear on last month’ s
“Believe” album.
“It didn't go on Believe, because there's
another record they want to work on,” the rising Canadian star’s
manager, Scooter Braun, told MTV. “So, it just didn't make sense at this
time, and the song they did just didn't make sense on this album.”
Bieber announced the collaboration with Swift on Capital FM in April.
“It's crazy,” Bieber told the station. “I mean I even wrote a song with Taylor Swift, so the whole album ranges differently.”
It was unclear at the time if Swift’s signature croon would also appear on the track.
What is clear is that Bieber galpal Selena Gomez absolutely loved the duet.
“It's beautiful,” she told E! News. “I don't know if it's going to make it on the record, but it is beautiful.”
Bieber’s
other collaborations, with a slew of hip-hop heavyweights, including
Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Big Sean, made the album, but his
anticipated cut with rap star Kanye West did not.
Braun told MTV that the Bieber-Kanye collaboration simply “didn’t make sense at this time.”
